Hello, friends! I finally have my own fitness bracelet. I only held the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 in my hands, but it did not have a pressure measurement function. I have always been interested in how adequately such bracelets measure blood pressure. I understood that they would lie, but what difference would it make with a stationary blood pressure monitor? — this question haunted me. So, the selection criteria were simple: measuring blood pressure, pulse (continuous measurement in dynamics) and most importantly - the cheapest! At that time, I couldn’t find anything cheaper than KALOAD F1. A little later I found out that the same factory produces the same bracelets with different names, ala Fitnex, Fitband, etc. Even the promotional material for all bracelets is the same, and their prices are in the same range. It was decided to take it. It's not a lot of money anyway. Pressure.
Why do I need pressure, I think it’s already clear, I’m no longer young, and the mortality rate of men over 40 from heart attacks is simply depressing. So I decided that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to think about constant monitoring now. Another thing is that the bracelet ultimately failed to cope with this task, but more on that below.
Pulse.
I was also interested in monitoring the dynamics of heart rate changes. I recently became interested in CrossFit. During the training process, you try to give it your all, but you don’t want to ruin your health either. It was necessary to control that the pulse did not rise above 150-170 beats. Otherwise it is fraught with problems.

In fact, often somewhere on the street I did not hear a bell. I also lost the habit of constantly feeling my pocket with my phone when it seems like someone is calling, I think this happens to many people
By the way, when you make a call, the name of the caller is displayed, you can instantly decide whether to pick up or not (this happens :)), without taking the phone out of your pocket.

We launch it, either from the application. Or select the corresponding symbol on the bracelet and after 2 seconds the keychain will automatically start measuring:
Compared with stationary tonometers. Shows quite accurately, the difference is ± 2 beats per minute. Take your pulse one time, either from a bracelet or from a phone - no problem. 10-20 seconds and the device determines the current pulse.
Real-time heart rate tracking
I noticed this glitch: From the phone we indicate “Measurement in mode” (i.e. constant heart rate tracking), everything goes well, the heart rate is constantly updated during, say, the training process. But as soon as you check the current pulse in the bracelet, or track the dynamics, the program immediately freezes and the proud number “zero” appears on the display. The only way to bring the program back to life is to restart the application.
Taking into account the fact that I was considering a bracelet specifically with the ability to constantly monitor changes in heart rate, this bracelet is no good. It was important for me to track my pulse, namely, during training without constantly running to the phone.
Perhaps with a change in the program firmware the situation will change. At the moment, this function is implemented very crookedly!
Pressure
No miracle happened. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this bracelet recognizes pressure very poorly. To put it bluntly, he talks like hell. In principle, this is logical. To accurately measure pressure, it is necessary to at least tightly envelop the hand. The automatic blood pressure monitor squeezes your hand so that it seems like your hand is about to be crushed. And then, some tonometers manage to show inaccurate data. And here is a bracelet “dangling” on my hand. It's a pity. I think it would be a breakthrough in medicine, but not today.
Automatic display on/off
This function must be enabled in the application settings. The display is turned off all the time, but if you raise your hand, the display lights up and shows the time, date and battery charge on the display. A well-implemented function that lights up/goes off instantly. Perhaps he even reacts too sensitively to hand movements. For example, when typing on the keyboard, the display periodically lights up, but this is not critical.
For me, the main thing is that if you really want to see the time, you don’t have to twist your hand in different planes for the bracelet to understand what they want from it. Raised my hand and it lit up, lowered it and it went out. Class!
Time, date
As soon as the application was installed on the phone, immediately after connecting, the bracelet synchronized the time and date. I always wanted to wear a watch, but I have a naturally thin wrist - 16 cm. Any wristwatch looked simply giant and out of place. Finally, I have a fairly comfortable watch that doesn’t look so bad on my wrist. Well, I'm tired of checking my phone every time to find out the time.
Stopwatch
You can launch it from the application through the “Running” function, or you can select it on the bracelet display and hold your finger on the sensor for 3 seconds to start the stopwatch. Pause/start again - short press on the sensor. A convenient thing and not poorly implemented.
Search for phone/bracelet
A very useful thing, although it works within Bluetooth range. We hold our finger on the sensor for 3 seconds and get an automatic call to our phone. You can pretend that your boss is calling and walk off into the sunset from your annoying interlocutor :)))) Use it!
And I also discovered one huge drawback: if the sound on the phone is turned off, then the call will not be heard... if the phone is on vibrate, it will just vibrate, but if there is music, then there will be music. These are the pies. I had to at least set it to vibrate so that if something happened there was a chance of finding the phone. Otherwise the sound would be turned off forever.
Pedometer
One of the most useless features. I thought he was counting the waves of his hand, but no. I still don’t fully understand the algorithm. It is possible that this function is somehow related to the heartbeat. Those. after a normal workout it shows that I walked +100500 steps and burned the same number of calories.
My guess is confirmed by a small hint in the app: “According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, you are recommended to do 40 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every day, which is approximately equivalent to 8,000 steps.”
In principle, such a guideline is not without meaning. But then it would be more logical to call it not “Pedometer”, but “Physical Activity”. Ok, let’s leave the name “Pedometer”, but then let him count the waves of his hand, but he doesn’t do that.
Run
Works via GPS. You can track speed, time and distance traveled. You can see the distance covered at the end of the walk on a Google map. Kidding. It is forbidden. When you try to view the result, the Google map is completely loaded and the path traveled disappears.
In general, again complaints about crooked software. Regular applications with a GPS tracker will cope better with this function. It would be interesting for light walks outside the city, but I don’t think it’s suitable for serious hikes. Even within the city limits, the program was not satisfied with the weak GPS signal, but what would happen somewhere in the forest or mountains?
Alarm
The alarm clock on my phone is completely turned off, now the bracelet wakes me up. The vibrations on the hand quite cheerfully bring you to your senses, surprisingly. In general, we add the bracelet as a plus.
Blood oxygen level
The measurement, as I understand it, is carried out using a small contact that comes into contact with the skin. In theory, there should not be any difficulties in measuring this parameter. You can probably trust him. Here the opinion of people who have real problems with hemoglobin in their blood will be more authoritative. In principle, as an additional health tracking function, let it be. My opinion is that I can’t say that it’s a completely meaningless thing.
Fatigue
Another function that takes data out of thin air. Let me guess the algorithm for such a program: The alarm clock went off, morning time - “In good condition”; 12-00 on the clock - “Slightly tired”, etc. Chinese programmers eat their bread for a reason :))) I can get a part-time job to create such programs :))) The only sensible point is the health advice emblazoned on the display: “Drink more water and rest.” Many people do not understand that one of the factors of weak immunity is a constant lack of water, in common parlance “dry water”.
Dream
Displays sleep duration, deep sleep time, sleep sensitivity and number of awakenings. As I wrote above, the bracelet begins to “control” sleep in the range that you specify in the settings. I wrote the word “control” in quotation marks for a reason. Because in fact, he takes data from the ceiling. During the night I wake up consistently 1-2 times (children :)), the device does not record these moments. In general, even if this function worked correctly, the value of this information for me personally is questionable. But here it doesn’t work correctly at all.
Take a photo with a wave of your hand
You can fix the phone and film, for example, your loved one from a distance of up to 10 meters. Or lure a squirrel in the park with a treat and take a photo almost closely... the main thing in this case is that the squirrel is still interested in the treat, and not your phone
Waterproof
On the product page it is stated that the bracelet is waterproof, but I did not find this information either in the box or in the instructions. Either I'm a fool, or the skis don't work. In any case, I did not dare to wet the bracelet. But most likely, I’m blind and at least this bracelet will withstand a shower. For bracelets like this, water resistance should be the default.
Battery
The declared capacity is 80mAh. In practice, if I just use it as a watch + inbox messages (and they call me a lot at work), then it lasts me for 3 weeks without recharging. With heart rate measurements 2-3 times a day - for about 2 weeks. In constant heart rate measurement mode, a 30-minute workout can consume about 30-40% of the charge.
I don’t know why it’s set this way, but they won’t show us the exact charge level. 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 0% - this is the indicator step. Those. shows 40% for two days in a row, you think that you won’t have to charge the bracelet for a very long time, but after an hour the level can become 20%. On my own behalf, I want to say that at 20% you need to charge it urgently, otherwise you will not notice how the bracelet will discharge to zero. The bracelet is fully charged from 0 to 100% in about 1.5 hours via USB.
And I’d like to say separately about the battery drain on the phone, after all, now we always have bluetooth on. Previously, a 5000 mAh battery lasted me 5-7 days with constant calls + occasionally surfing the Internet. Now a full charge lasts me 2 days.
But the real fun is in the software. At a certain moment, the program may “fail” and begin to consume an enormous amount of energy. Even if you put your phone on charge, the charge will at best stand still, or even continue to discharge. Fortunately, the phone immediately displays a message that one of the applications is draining the phone and simply by restarting the program, we can cure this problem. A joint? Jamb!

Let's sum it up. And the results are simple, most of the disadvantages are related to crooked software. If the Chinese had spent a little more time testing the application, I would have been 100% satisfied with the bracelet. On the other hand, all the listed disadvantages (except for battery drain) do not bother me; initially I regarded these functions as pampering. But the pressure measurement disappointed me; I don’t know what I was expecting.
In general, the functionality of the bracelet added some positive emotions to my life. For the money, I think it’s an excellent purchase. I regard it as a watch with a call alert function and a heart rate monitor. My wife is already shaking off my second bracelet for herself. And I’m thinking about New Year’s gifts for my brothers, but what manufacturer it will be is the question!
