Good day!
My name is Khalisat Suleymanova - I am a herbalist. At the age of 28, I cured myself of uterine cancer with herbs (read more about my experience of recovery and why I became a herbalist here: My story). Before being treated using traditional methods described on the Internet, please consult with a specialist and your doctor! This will save your time and money, since the diseases are different, the herbs and treatment methods are different, and there are also concomitant diseases, contraindications, complications, and so on. There is nothing to add yet, but if you need help in selecting herbs and treatment methods, you can find me at my contacts: Khalisat SuleymanovaInstagram page: instagram.com/fitoterapevt1

High levels of cholesterol in the body are the root cause of atherosclerosis, cholesterol deposits, plaques in blood vessels and other dangerous pathologies. Traditional medicine recommends the spice turmeric to lower blood cholesterol levels.
The Indian "golden spice" takes its roots from the ginger community and grows in the tropics of Asia. The plant has a lot of healing qualities. The spicy spice rhizome is suitable for making:
- spices,
- essential oils,
- natural colors.
Used in perfumery and cosmetology.
Effect on cholesterol
Turmeric really reduces cholesterol and its fractions in the body. The effect is realized due to the presence of curcumin in the roots of the plant, which increases the activity of a specific liver enzyme - 7a-hydroxylase. As a result, the intensity of bile acid synthesis at the level of hepatocytes decreases.
Many experiments have been conducted on animals that have demonstrated positive effects.
As an example, let’s take the work of Korean scientists. The tests involved rats that were first artificially hypercholesterolemic and then given curcumin for 4 weeks. The results showed that the number of “atherogenic” lipids decreased significantly: LDL (“bad” cholesterol) fell by 56%, TAG by 27%, and total cholesterol by 34%. However, the amount of “useful” lipoproteins (HDL) did not change.
Almost similar results were obtained when using curcumin in people who had a history of acute coronary syndrome (the term means the presence of myocardial infarction or unstable angina at the initial stage of diagnosis of the condition) and severe dyslipidemia. As a result, total cholesterol decreased by 21%, “bad” cholesterol (LDL) by 43%, and “good” lipoproteins with a high specific gravity increased by 1.5 times!
It was noted that there was no interaction of turmeric extract with such groups of medications as statins and fibrates. No adverse reactions were observed.
Thus, turmeric can be used for the treatment and prevention of high cholesterol, dyslipidemia and the prevention of dangerous vascular complications caused by atherosclerosis.

Despite the proven effectiveness of turmeric in lowering cholesterol, in any case, you should consult a specialist before starting treatment. Hyperlipidemia requires serious treatment, and herbal remedies alone are not enough.
9 more healing properties
In addition to curcumin, the plant contains a lot of useful substances, including:
- vitamins (C, E, K, PP, B9, B4, B6, B2, B1);
- trace elements (zinc, selenium, phosphorus, sodium, copper, potassium, iodine);
- essential oils.
The described substances provide the following medicinal properties of the seasoning:
- Increased sensitivity of insulin receptors to insulin. The action is based on reducing the concentration of bile acids in the blood, which inhibit the interaction between insulin and receptor complexes on muscle and adipose tissue cells. As a result, blood sugar levels decrease, which can significantly aggravate the course of atherosclerosis and disrupt the integrity of the inner lining of blood vessels.
- Reduced blood viscosity. Blood thinning is achieved by reducing the pathological contamination of plasma. This helps improve microcirculation and prevents the formation of thrombotic masses against the background of congestion (varicose veins of the lower extremities, chronic heart failure, etc.).
- Increasing vascular resistance to aggressive factors. The plant strengthens blood vessels, increasing the tone of smooth muscle cells and activating the regenerative potential of the endothelial plate of the bloodstream. “Strong protection” prevents the deposition of cholesterol and glucose, and also slows down the fibrous transformation of the middle layer in hypertension.
- increased activity of the immune system (stimulation of phagocytosis);
- antibacterial effect (active against staphylococci, streptococci, Escherichia coli and Helicobacter);
- acceleration of skin regeneration;
- stimulation of bile formation;
- anti-inflammatory effect (by reducing the production of inflammatory mediators and reducing vascular permeability).
- anthelmintic effect (not fully studied).
Properties of the spice
Curcumin is a bioactive component, an active substance that is obtained from the rhizome of the plant.
Golden spice lowers the level of “bad” cholesterol in the blood through a choleretic effect. It has a healing effect on the liver, which synthesizes the main percentage of cholesterol compounds, the remaining percentage is received by the body with food. The spice stimulates the flow of bile, reduces the level of unnecessary substances, and controls absorption from food. Many useful substances that have a beneficial effect on almost all body systems have found their use not only in folk practice, but also in medications and dietary supplements. Let's look at a few examples:
- "Curcumin." Helps normalize liver function, enhance the removal of bile from the body, prevent the formation of cholesterol stones, and strengthen the immune system. Also effective for arthritis, as a symptomatic remedy, and hyperlipidemia. You should take 1 to 3 capsules per day for a month.

- "BIO-Turmeric". Contains turmeric root extract and a number of auxiliary vitamin supplements. Recommended for diabetes, hyperlipidemia, increased blood viscosity, heart rhythm and conduction disorders. The drug regulates the activity of metabolic processes in the body and promotes weight loss.
Kefir and cholesterol
Kefir is an extremely healthy fermented milk product that contains cholesterol. Consuming kefir during times of increased concentration of cholesterol compounds in the body is possible, but within the framework of a special diet.
INTERESTING fact: Treatment of hemorrhoids with iodine
For example, for diabetics, a low-fat fermented milk product is simply necessary. Diabetes mellitus is very often accompanied by hypercholesterolemia. It has been proven that the small amount of cholesterol contained in kefir depends on its fat content and is harmless to the body. Accordingly, consuming low-fat kefir in such a situation will not harm.
Recipes:
- The recipe for spiced kefir is not much different from Golden Milk. Only the paste, which contains golden spice, is added to kefir and the consistency is consumed at night.
- Fermented milk products with a low percentage of fat content are not only possible, but also useful to eat in case of hypercholesterol levels in the blood. A mixture of cinnamon and golden spice is especially effective - add half a teaspoon to a glass of kefir, mix thoroughly and drink at a time.
Turmeric and kefir for cholesterol are an effective and tasty dessert tandem for diabetics and those who want to lose weight. The “cocktail” quells appetite and normalizes the concentration of substances in the body. Medical research proves that fermented milk products in combination with the right spicy food additives enhance each other in the fight against hypercholesterolemia.
